Many thanks to you all for your kind words,which brought great warmth to me on this snowy and cold day in NY. When I lookback almost 37 years ago, the time period during which we met and got to knoweach other, no matter how fleeting and transient it now seems, belongs to ourformative years. Thus I am sure we all have a specially cherished place for itdeep in our heart. So, if I were to propose a toast to celebrate, it would be:

To fellowship, and to this family we call 复旦77级!

P.S. The NAE is a nice honor indeed; but then,it's no more and no less than just that, an honor.  At my stage of career,it's not going to make any difference. I'm still going to do what I've beendoing over the last three decades, for the rest of my life. But then, it couldvery well be because there's no better way to live my life. At least I don'tknow a better way.
